About Los Patitos Daycare
Los Patitos Daycare is a bilingual (English and Spanish) program led by an Early Childhood Educator with over 20 years of experience. We offer developmentally appropriate activities designed to support each child’s intellectual, social, physical, and emotional growth.

Our program fosters creativity, curiosity, and self-esteem by recognizing that every child has unique interests and develops at their own pace. In our small, nurturing setting, each child receives the individual attention and support they need to truly flourish. This personalized approach allows us to build strong connections with every child and better understand their strengths, needs, and personalities—something only a small, close-knit group can provide.
We maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere through constructive guidance and reinforcement, helping children feel confident and comfortable. We also promote cooperation, sharing, and respect for others, while encouraging children to explore their interests freely during playtime.

Daily Routine & Learning Approach
At Los Patitos Daycare, we follow a structured daily routine that balances learning, play, and rest:

Indoor free play: arts and crafts, puzzles, baking
Outdoor free play: backyard play, playground visits, walks, gardening
Circle time: story time, show and tell, music and movement
Quiet book time: sometimes at the Vancouver Public Library

While we have a structured schedule, our activities remain flexible to adapt to the weather and the general interests of the group.

We nurture curiosity and early learning by introducing basic concepts of Science and Math in a fun, playful way, without pressuring the children. Numeracy, literacy, and exploration are integrated into games and hands-on experiences.

Children also learn about the natural world through themes such as animals and their life cycles, often focusing on backyard creatures they can observe up close. We emphasize the importance of caring for animals and our planet, incorporating these lessons into circle time, indoor play, and outdoor activities.

Environmental awareness is a key part of our program. Children learn how to "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle," and many of our arts and crafts materials are made from recycled supplies, reinforcing these principles through everyday activities.
